What to Expect & How to Prepare for End-User Training

Your Salesforce org project is almost complete. As we approach your go-live, please read over this information so that you and your team are prepared for your Nimbus Tech-led training session.

What to Expect

Typically, training sessions last 1-2 hours. A Nimbus Tech consultant will lead you and your team through a demo and walkthrough of how to use your new org. Remember that this training session will not make you or your team experts. Rather, it will serve as a starting point to introduce your team to your new Salesforce org, show you how to navigate the system, and how to use the main components.

Your consultant will ask for permission to record your training session for the purpose of providing your team with a recording you can rewatch whenever needed. We will also provide you with take-home end-user documentation and additional web resources to further support your learning and adoption of your new Salesforce org.

How to Prepare for Training

BEFORE TRAINING:

2-Nov-09-2022-05-56-25-6681-PM

1.  Coordinate with the members of your team that should be present for the training session.

3-4
2.  Verify that each attending member of your team can log in to Salesforce prior to the meeting date. If anyone on your team has an issue with login, they should contact us as soon as possible and before the meeting start time. This will help ensure that your team gets the most out of your training session.
4

3.  Prior to the meeting date, prepare a list of questions that you or your team want to remember to ask your consultant. This ensures you are able to maximize the learning and takeaway information from your training.

11
4.  Each team member should register and create a free account on Trailhead and complete this trailmix. Salesforce provides free access to Trailhead as their primary source of learning how to navigate and utilize their platforms.

DURING TRAINING:

5

1. We recommend turning cameras on for the training session unless you have internet connection issues.

Additionally, if two or more team members are physically in the same room and joining the meeting from multiple devices, you may decide to have one person project their screen for everyone in the room to see and hear. All other devices should then mute their speakers so that you only have one source of sound. Otherwise, use headphones and make sure you are muted unless ready to speak/ask a question or comment.

6
2. Once the training has started, please keep yourself muted until you have a specific comment or question to ask. This allows your team to hear the training better, creates a higher-quality session recording, and reduces any background noise.
7
3. Take notes on important steps or instructions, and add questions in the chat panel during the training session. You may decide to coordinate amongst your team and appoint a designated note-taker, or you may all choose to take your own notes. Your consultant may ask you to hold all questions until the end to ensure we cover all intended topics in the training session.

4. Be engaged and follow along. Training is designed for your team to click through Salesforce and get hands-on experience. Although it is tempting, please avoid checking emails or other multi-tasking during your training session. Your training time with the consultant is limited, and it only takes 20 seconds to miss an important step. As your consultant demonstrates something on their screen, you should replicate those steps/instructions on your own device. This is the best way to cement your learning and remember how to use the platform. This also helps you encounter possible questions to ask since you are performing the actions on your screen too.

 5. Use dual monitors or a split screen to make following along and note-taking most efficient. (For Windows users, hold the Windows key + Left or Right Arrow keys to snap tabs into split screen. For Mac users, read here.)

AFTER TRAINING:

11
1. Continue your learning on Trailhead. Salesforce provides free access to Trailhead as their primary source of learning how to navigate and utilize their platforms. Your Nimbus Tech consultant may provide you with additional trails to work through that provide specific instructions related to your build.
